(Concerning the course, Get Your Feet Wet – Swimming) Part 5 was mostly about how to do backstroke. Part 6 was mostly about how to do butterfly. Part 7 was mostly about social skills. Part 7 teaches me about forming, storming, normalizing, performing. It also teaches me about respectfulness. Part 6 sold me that the hands has to move at the same time. You also have to kick your feet at the same time. Part 5 told me that you have to kick e times each stroke. You have to lie on your back to do the back strokes.

Eduardo

The backstroke is a back that you should lay in the water with a kickboard in a nice body position and kick. The head should lay back a little bit more. And also you need to hug on the kickboard in the front.

Bobby

The butterfly style is very hard for me because the legs — I don’t know how to do the leg, but they are very fast.

The freestyle. I know how to swim freestyle but I can’t swim very fast. If i swim with them, I will not win.

I read about swimming. I know how to be safe in the swim pool, know how to save the person when they fall in the pool. I know when we jump in the water your hand should be in front of your head to save your head.

Timmy

I know that if you want to swim really fast you have to wear swimming cap. You have to keep swimming to not die. I know you need to close your mouth in the water. When you are swimming you move your hands and feet. Roll, but try not to twist to much. Gentle kick on the kickboard. Hold the board, not your nose. Put your goggles on your eyes, not your forehead.

Timmy, page 2:

If you want to float, you have to relax your body to go to any position you want. Drop hips, draw knees back. Reach your arms backwards and push forward while straightening your legs.

Scull out around and back to your chest. Position your hands to push differetly, backwards to propel you forward extends the length of time you are apply backward force.

Respectfulness is shown through using good communication skills.

Respecting an opponent is important because a good opponent forces you to do your best.

Robert

Water polo began in England. Polo comes from “pulu” meaning “ball.” The first United States games were played in 1888. Games were played like rugby and were won more from strength then skill. It was the first Olympic team sport in 1900.

Khwan

USA man water polo, you have to pass in unison.

You are not to fight in the water.

The ball is in the middle of water, go get the ball.

There are two teams. They both have to get to the end of the pool and you have to swim to get the ball.

Jake

We watched “water polo” yesterday. it was ROU vs. USA. It was a tough match. it ended on 5-5. The teams both were trying to do trick shots.

Shaquan

Romania and America are tied, 2-2. Now its 3-3. I hope USA wins. It is still 3-3 and second quarter now. 4-3 Rou is winning. It is 5-5 USA is going to win 5-6. USA is winning 7-5. USA go 8-6. USA, USA. 9-6. 10-7, USA won.

Lesson 1

I learn how to do submerge face, bobbing up and down.

Blowing bubbles is when your position your lips in the water.

Hold your breath since it helps with buoyancy.

Lesson 2

Swim with someone watching: lifeguard, parent.

Stay out of water if you are very tired, cold, or over heated.

Only go feet first down the slide.

Lesson 3

The pull buoy is a floating device that sits between the swimmers legs.

There are two types of snorkles: contour and drop away.

A wetsuit will keep you warm in cold water.

Regeine

Butterfly stroke. You lie in your down position.

Good communication is especially important among members of a relay team.

Smoothing: One party give up its goals in order to maintain the friendship.

Zaire

Backstroke: Backstroke you have to be on your back. Your arms have to go backwards. You have to push off the diving block.

Butterfly: Both hands have to touch each other. Your feet have to be together. your arms have to come all the way out of the water.

Social skills: You have to pay attention and focus. Your swim form has to be good. Your performance has to be good for other people.

For swimming butterfly, both harms have to touch. For freestyle you can just swim freely. For each medal, you know how many players. When they jump in, they don’t do swimming, they do a type of butterfly.

For the equipment, they show things for swimming. Equipment that I use is a kicking board. Some equipment groups are training, snorkeling, swimming. For pool safety, you need a lifeguard.
